Margaret Salmon graduated from Washington School of Medicine, and received an MPH from Harvard University. She has taught at Toronto General Hospital, and has spent years involved in Global Medicine in South America and Africa. Her special interests include Ultrasound-guided Nerve Blocks and innovated Pain Management solutions in Africa. At Vital Pain Management, she is chief in Education and Training.
In April 2023, her research article was published in PLOS ONE on "Fake Drugs: Using Spectral Fingerprinting ...to infer Quality of Medications." It discussed a means of detecting low quality or counterfeit drugs which represent 50% of drugs in poorer countries. Click the link below.
Sukanya Holmes received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in Rhode Island. Afterwards, she went on to receive her medical degree at New York Medical College. She travelled from the East Coast to the West Coast, where she did her internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California, then completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Washington in Seattle.
She was first Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2002. For 10 years, she was employed and also became a partner at Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group. Family issues took her overseas to Paris, where she involved herself in volunteer work. She has been back in 2021 to join Vital Pain Management.
Dr Chris Chen received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, and his MD degree from UC San Diego. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology, and is Board-certified in Anesthesiology. In addition, he has completed fellowships in Pain Management, Neurosurgical Anesthesia, and Cardiovascular Anesthesia.
Dr. Zizmor received his B.A. from UC Berkeley, and his M.D. from Kansas University School of Medicine. He did his internship at Boston University Affiliated Hospitals, and received his training in Psychiatry at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
Dr. Janet Burns graduated her medical and osteopathy school training in Ohio, and did her medical internship and residency in Ohio. She is board-certified in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, as well as Family Medicine.
After private practice in Michigan, she has taught Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine for six years, then at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo for seven years. After private practice in California, she joined Vital Pain Management in Walnut Creek to provide pain relief using osteopathic manipulation to help lessen dependence on pain medications.
Dr. Daniels received her medical degree from UC San Francisco, She joined the US Navy, where she did her neurology residency at Walter Reed Army Hospital & the Naval Medical Center, at Bethesda, Washington, D.C. While serving in the US Navy, she served as a General Medical Officer on the light aircraft carrier SS Bonhomme Richard, out of San Diego. After her tour, she returned to UCSF, where she completed a Fellowship in Movement Disorders. She joined the Neurology staff at Kaiser, then did private practice in San Francisco, before joining Vital Pain Management in Walnut Creek and Pleasanton.
Paul Simon received his initial training as a Massage Therapist and became a CMT in 1998. He followed his passions in health care by attending the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he graduated in 2001.
Before joining Vital Pain Management, he has had his own private practice, and has worked as an Acupuncturist for two Substance Abuse Recovery Centers, as well as worked at Kaiser's Chronic Pain Program.
